For this project I was approached by the rapidly expanding Gila River Casino in Arizona. They were looking to create a campaign for a live event they would be throwing this summer centered around pool parties connected to their casinos featuring top DJ’s and encourage resort stays. They had given me full freedom to design how I saw fit but asked for the project I deliver a logo, flyer, slot topper, social media and a digital OOH.
First I needed to develop the logo to set the stage for the rest of the project. As the event did not a name I had the opportunity to create my own. This lead me to the name splash as it had impact and action and worked well into my wave design logo. Coloring I wanted to contrast so I used blue for the waves and orange / yellow colors to represent the casino in the Arizona landscape.
After the logo was done I created the flyer and I really needed it to stand out. Researching other flyers I took elements such as large headlines and multiple colors. I wanted it to feel like a magazine ad from the early 2000’s where they were a bit busy in design but impactful visually. Using quite a bit of Photoshop I was able to take the casino and place it on a night sky (as these would be nightly events) with fireworks exploding in the background. Another thing I oversaw was the writing of content as I wanted the content and design to really align. Once the layout was done I was able to reuse the content and design for social media images and stories.
The last two pieces were the slot toppers and digital OOH. I wanted to present another option in case Gila River did not like the first option so for this one I set the scene of the logo jumping into a pool. This helped the logo stand out was the solid blue water backgrounds allowing the information to stand out. This I found extremely important as these types of pieces would have a short amount of time for people to collect the information before walking on by. All content was also developed by myself.
