Rob Has a Podcast Thumbnail Rebrand

When I first started at Rob Has a Podcast in 2020 the company was beginning to venture more into the Youtube space and I was tasked with redesigning the thumbnails. After not being updated for many years it was considered by many to be a breath of fresh air. However, fast forward to 2022 and being more familiar with Youtube we quickly found that the thumbnails were very limited. What translated from web didn’t translate well to Youtube and social media.

We soon decided another rebrand was necessary with me taking the helm. One of the first things I noticed was that content was small an hard to read especially on phones. This was quickly fixed by scaling up text and styling with a different font. Next we developed a frame so on Youtube we could always see the business logo and what show was being covered. This helped become recognizable as each show had a different color. Last was pushing the limit of imagery going from simple to eye catching. Production photos we found limited so we used photographic moment where players showed an expression or action which helped develop intrigue to the viewers.

Since upping our thumbnail game we quickly noticed the sudden uptick in viewers after hovering below 100k subscribers we had finally surpassed it and are continuing to add more each day. Check out the Youtube channel here.
