Hosted by Brice Izyah a former contestant from Survivor: Cagayan, the Purple Pants Podcast is a show on the Rob Has a Podcast network. A lot of marketing for the show is done through social media especially Instagram. Part of the marketing includes a weekly Instagram story video announcing the release of a new episode. For this project Brice requested the creation a couple of videos including provided assets of artwork provided by his fans.
Option 1
I wanted to create a simple animation but complex in color. Throughout the video I use a variety of shades of purples and pinks while using simple opacity transitions and rotations for the graphics. Lastly to sync up to the music I wanted to include a spray paint and word writing call to action to match the beat.
Option 2
Studying the graphic I I had the idea it could be broken down into separate assets and then rebuilt piece by piece in the animation. The animation begins with the building of the city to the eventually finishing with the creation of Brice’s advice stand. Advice with Brice is a reoccurring segment on his show so to be fair to the other segments Purple Pants Picks and Barb’s Message where added in to keep them all together. Lastly I found the style of the graphic similar to a comic so I included a sharp action font to match.
Option 3
With the completion of the other two videos I still was left with quite a few graphics so for this final video I wanted to include as many as possible. With the beginning of the video numerous jump out at the viewer to grab attention still synced with the music. While the beginning it is a lot of visuals the ending I chose to go simplistic having just the call to action fade in with no heavy animation giving the piece balance.
